You'd think that after seven years of teaching I would have gotten used to how quickly the end of the semester sneaks up on us, but I haven't! It's almost here. And in all three classes, I can say that we're in good places. Strong presentations with interesting, complex information. I'm impressive by how you've chosen hard research questions and are pushing yourselves to look at the issues from different perspectives. It's inspiring.
I want to remind you to sign up for a conference time, which a lot of you have done already. They're filling up fast! And a reminder, the times listed are pretty much all that is available. I can maybe add a couple times if nothing there works for you, but you let me know ASAP.
Okay, here we go:

Okay, here we go:
Monday, November 9:
In Class: Forum Group 2 Presentation; take notes in class. Remember that " All class members will write a short response including 2-3 questions/comments about your research process, one thing you learned about the topic, and one thing you learned about giving a good presentation." So make sure you are taking notes while your peers present.
HW: Blog Post #9, due by Friday before class
HW: Sign up for an "unessay" conference time (do this as soon as you can because these are the only conference times available).
Wednesday, November 11:
In Class: Forum Group 2 Discussion Day; write response; turn in notebooks
HW: Blog Post #9, due by Friday before class
Friday, November 13:
In Class: Forum Group 3 Presentation; take notes in class. Remember that " All class members will write a short response including 2-3 questions/comments about your research process, one thing you learned about the topic, and one thing you learned about giving a good presentation." So make sure you are taking notes while your peers present.
HW: Blog #10, due next Friday, November 20 (only three blogs left after this!)
Blog #10: You now have notes on two sets of forums. Think back to the presentations you've seen and think about how the presenters could re-purpose the information in their presentations into a different format. Basically, pretend you are telling them what they should write their unessay on. Here is a good way to start this:
You should write about (insert topic) in (insert media) because I, as part of your audience found this compelling because of (insert reasons you found it compelling).
This last bit is where you want to get argumentative. This is basically your thesis. Feel free to copy and paste, then fill in the blanks. Then support your thesis. Why would that be a good media? Why did you find it compelling? To help them get started, offer ideas for further research or any questions you were confused about.
tag (this one is tricky): go and check out what tag that group used when blogging about their topic.
