Vague versus Specific Details
If you are receiving a lot of feedback that cites "vague" information or directs you to "Be Specific!," this reading will help you. Remember that "abstract" and "general" details are often the culprits of the aforementioned bits of feedback. "Concrete" and "specific"terms are what you are aiming for in your paragraphs.
Transitions
This explanation of transitions is fairly exhaustive; it will come in handy when we get to essays. So, although it's a good idea to read it not, you might not grasp everything it's talking about. For the time being, use the list of transition words at the end, and we'll get to the more complicated stuff later.
