The thesis of Ronald Reagan's piece regards the fact that the public does not want socialized medicine in fear of socialism, but it is slowly being brought upon that public.

Ronald Reagan uses the rhetorical move of supporting his main claim with a specific insight. This essentially uses the common knowledge of the people which Reagan speaks to in a way that supports his claim that socialized medicine is not needed. This gives the overall argument a very easy to follow path which attains the desired effect in the end; do what you can to prevent socialized medicine.

1) Reagan is that America should be against socialism and socialized medicine, for socialist tactics take away American rights. House of Commons Debate is for socialized medicine because people are not able to get the medical attention they need with the way medicine is in Britain.

1) Reagan: The thesis for this piece centers itself around the outcomes of a socialistic medical system, in turn affecting the American people negatively. With socialistic healthcare, Reagan believes that the government would gain more power, and the power of the American people over their own medical issues would shift into the hands of America's governing force.

1. Bevan argues that England needs a socialized health care system. He believes that socialization will create cohesiveness and fairness for the country. He argues that the discrepancies in health care cause more damage, and treats the people unjustly. Regan on the other hand argues that the people do not want socialized Healthcare. He believes that the people would automatically vote no for socialism and socialized healthcare, but he believes that congress will ignore the wishes of the people. Slowly, over time, socialized healthcare will be initiated into society.

He also is a strong believer that people do not want socialized medicine and it is the governments of the world that force it upon their citizens.

1.) Bevan's thesis is that the British government should provide quality, universal and equally distributed medical services to the wide population without relying on "charity" hospitals so that the entire nation will have the same rights and opportunities provided to them. Reagan's thesis is that socialized hospitals should be avoided in the United States because it would give rise to the movement of socialism and pose a threat to the American democracy.

The thesis of Ronald Reagan’s speech drew upon the argument against socialized medicine. He believes that the concept opposes the very ideals and values which this country holds dear. On the other hand, Aneurin Bevan, a British statesmen, advocated for a system of national health care that would be applied to the people of Britain. The excerpts from his speech called for the unification of hospitals, a better distribution of varying practices, and the reallocation of the several sources of funding under his theorized medical structure.

Ronald Reagan was speaking out against socialized medicine. He argues that Social medicine is not something the American people want, and that instituting it will take away the freedoms of the patient as well as the freedoms of the doctor. Reagan effectively uses ethos as well as pathos. He cites how American's have voted down the idea of socialized medicine. This shows he has done his research as well as shows us that these laws are not something American supports. An interesting research question i would like to research is how patient's and doctor's freedoms are violate in countries where they have socialized medicine.

Regan's thesis was that socialized medicine should be voted against because it will take away freedoms of the American people and will slowly move us towards a communist society. Regan uses the rhetorical tool pathos by playing on the fear of communism of the American people at the time of his speech to persuade the audience against socialized medicine because it would lead to a communist way of life through loss of personal freedom.
