We have a few assignments this semester that ask you to create arguments using more than just writing. In the world of composition study, we refer to this as multimodal composition. Since this is a 100 level course in which we aim to cover a wide range of information about composition and we don't have adequate time to discuss multimodal composition to the degree I would like, I encourage you to read this blog post arguing the importance of multimodal composition in English 101. If you are one of those people who is always asking the question, "Why are we doing this?" then this article will direct you to some (I think) compelling answers.
